The big boy gets fixed June 15th

when I write fixed it sounds like andy got neutered. the fact is, we would like more children someday so, no fixing yet. after about 4 years of dealing with back problems and lots of money spent on alternative treatments we decided it was time to go ahead with surgery. andy was pretty nervous about the procedure but everything turned out ok. thank God. it took about 2 1/2 hours then the doctor came out and told jerry and me that the operation was successful. he also said that when he opened andy up the disc was actually more ruptured since the x-rays were taken. this reaffirmed that this was something andy really needed. it's been about 3 weeks now and he is healing up nicely. he has a ways to go in healing both physically and mentally/emotionally. but i think he has become a stronger person from this while ordeal. something like this makes you evaluate yourself, your abilities to cope, and can affect your relationships. we are very proud of him for making it this far and staying strong. as you can see he managed to still talk on the phone shortly after his surgery. however, he doesn't remember that much of the entire hospital stay. that's probably not a bad thing. love you dada
